Which is the best antivirus for Windows

We always wonder which antivirus is best for our computer and then we get influenced by so many ads and then if you try to search this online and see suggestions from some big blogger or youtuber then you will find that everyone is suggesting Quickheal. Also those ads on TV somehow approves that thinking in some way or another, but in this blog I am going to give you really honest opinion on this topic. So I will be cutting it in few sections and will give marks on 10 in every section and then you can see overall result of it. Also you want some specific feature and can compromise on some other section then you must consider giving priority to that antivirus only. Also I will be  testing these antiviruses on different viruses, malwares, spywares etc so that you can see how honest I am and believe me I wont be giving any biased suggestions.

So without any delay let's get started to the main deal:

1 Our first category will be on how powerful a antivirus is on detecting most common viruses like trojan, conficker, ILOVEYOU, Morris worm etc (these are the most devastating viruses that you will encounter)

So before that we should be having a list of antivirus between whom we will be giving marks for them.

So the list is like this:

• AVG

• Microsoft Defender (not the fire wall they have a particular antivirus named like this)

• Panda

• And of course Quick Heal

Now as you can see we cannot get to a simple result that yeah this one is best. Every antivirus is special in their own way like Avast was best antivirus for almost 5 years but now it couldn't successfully detect viruses and  Bullguard, bitdeffender norton are extremely good at detecting viruses but couldn't detect spywares and malwares.

So now comes category wise disection:

• Normal use for PC and net banking and movies stuff (most of us fall under this category). For this category we want safe net banking thats our first priority and then other stuff. So we definitely need Trojans and spywares covered for netbanking and then anything extra is just bonus but I have also inluded movie and normal net surfing and downloading descent trac record at virus and malwares would be a good thing too.

So my top 3 in this category would be:

1 Avira by a Solid margin it is first because it has detected all spywares and trojans and descent number of malwares and viruses

2 Kaspersky Same story all spywares and almost all trojans and superb detection at malwares it didn't detected Shylock malware which went as a shocker for me because I thought it would have been in its database but still it detected 149/150 So clear 2nd place

3 Avast It was the best antivirus from 2011 till 2015 but then the makers probably dont cared much then it wasnt used much but now they are bouncing back super strong on spywares and trojans and descent on malwares so clear 3rd

If you do not like avast for some reason then 4th place would be Quick Heal.

• For those people who do not do net banking but do common web surfing and download movies and stuff like gaming occasionally etc. So as net banking is not a concern in this category then we can compromise on spywares but we need trojans and malwares and descent virus record as well.

So my top 3 would be:

1 Norton Hands down norton is the best in this section as it was made for this stuff.150/150 on malwares is super strong to be really honest I didn't expected this from norton I thought Bullguard bitdeffender panda or Mcafee would get 150/150 on malwares but it was not the case. The 2 problems with norton is that it is really heavy and also it is really bad at spywares but as net banking is not of our concern then only heaviness is the only negative of Norton. 

2 Avira It is still super strong in this section as well plus those 50/50 on spywares is also a bonus so 2nd place by a huge margin

3 Bitdeffender just because kaspersky was unable to detect one trojan from Zeus family. I mean Zeus family is a must in this section if it wold have detected that and didn't detected trojan horse ware then this Kaspersky would have been 3rd.

An honorable mention should be Kaspersky and MCafee they did well in this section too but just because of zeus family trojan I placed kaspersky 4th and Mcafee 5th

• So now for the hardcore gamers and download content category we need super strong virus and trojan database anything else is just a bonus.

1 Bullguard as expected bullguard would be the number one in this section as it has the best virus database in the world for almost 3 years straight  

2 Bitdeffender Yeah was expecting this as well super strong on viruses and its just a bonus that it is good on malwares as well

3 Avira a very close 3rd it was much better on malwares and spywares and almost equal on viruses but it didn't detected some of old viruses like ILOVEYOU which are still very dangerous.

An honorable mention would be Norton and Panda both of them were super strong as well also Norton Avira and bitdeffender were almost equal.

So that sums it up for category wise comparisons but if you are a normal user who likes to do everything occasionally then you might like my overall marks.

• Avast Avast Antivirus is a family of cross-platform internet security applications developed by Avast for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It was the best antivirus from 2011-15 and most popular vendor in 2014,2015 and 2017. So enough intro now lets get to marks.

•    Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG is a German multinational computer security software company mainly known for their antivirus software Avira Free Security.It was considered the best before avast changed everything in 2011. Itws also the most popular vendor in 2006, 2007,2008,2009,2010,2011,2013,2018.

• AVG AntiVirus (previously known as AVG, an abbreviation of Anti-Virus Guard) is a line of antivirus software developed by AVG Technologies, a subsidiary of Avast. It is available for Windows, macOS and Android. To be really honest I have used it in around 2011 or something and I was thinking that this is the best at that time and my brother challenged his computer hacker friend Anmol Bhave to try to crack AVG's defenses and guess what he actually blocked and corrupted it to that level that whenever Avg is in the background Viruses multiply so my computer got absolutely useless I had to completely format the system loosing all my games and movies downloaded at that time so I kind of have a grudge against this antivirus.

In my opinion the worst Antivirus in this whole list

• Bitdefender is a Romanian cybersecurity and anti-virus software company. It was founded in 2001 by Florin Talpeș who is currently the CEO. Bitdefender develops and sells anti-virus software, internet security software, endpoint security software, and other cybersecurity products and services. Probably one of the best in this list.

• BullGuard is an IT security company founded in 2002 by Morten Lund and Theis Søndergaard . BullGuard mainly produces internet security and antivirus products for private users and small / medium-sized companies.

It was founded in 1997 by Eugene Kaspersky, Natalya Kaspersky. Kaspersky Lab develops and sells antivirus, internet security, password management, endpoint security, and other cybersecurity products and services. It is one of the best antivirus.Its always been neck to neck with Avira and Avast but they didn't do their marketing well thats why they do not have that many users.

• Panda Cloud Antivirus is an antivirus software developed by Panda Security, a free and a paid version are available. It is cloud-based in the sense that files are scanned on a remote server without using processing power of the user's machine. The cloud technology is based on Panda's Collective Intelligence. It can run constantly, providing protection against viruses and malicious websites but slowing the system to some extent, or do a system scan.

• Quick Heal Technologies Ltd is an IT security services provider headquartered in Pune, India. The company was formerly known as CAT Computer Services (P) Ltd and was started as a computer service center in 1995. The company was renamed as Quick Heal Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2007.This company is really cunning. They choose their audience in the country of 1.3 billion people and marketed as hell by ads and stuff. It is the most popular in 2019 but being popular dosen't always means the best.

Well that sums it up, Avira is the best overall antivirus but if you are someone who plays lot of games and download those nasty torrent files then you might like bullguard but it is little expensive but it is worth it.
